  • AS From TLS to MAD

18 JAN – 5 Flights – 90 SEAT
AS = 90 seats for per flight ; 90x5= 450 AS for Monday

Totally, As we calculate all AS numbers, we can find 2960. Also, we must consider the return flights. Therefore, 2960 x 2= 5920. By using that number, we can find Available Seat Kilometer(ASK). ASK=AS*KM.  ASK can be found as 2960*537 = 1,589,520.

REVENUE

Ticket price from MAD to TLS is 660$ for week between 18 Jan - 25 Jan 2016. In order to calculate revenue, RPK must be found.

  • RP= 5920 x 0.847 = 5014.
  • RPK=5014 x 537 = 2,692,518
Revenue = 5014 x 660 = 3,309,240EUR for all flights (departure and return)
According to the resources, Ancillary revenue Is %5 for the revenue of full service airlines.
Ancillary Revenue for full service airlines = 3.309.24 * 0.05 = 165.462EUR

CONCLUSION

To sum up, when we look the text totally, we can clearly say that aviation sector in those cities is advanced. They have a lot of flights in a week between those cities. However, the route is generally used by business people. Furthermore, when we check the charts, it can be said that their values are increasing year by year. In my opinion, in the future, more people will use that route.
